Collioure: Domaine La Tour Vieille 'Les Canadells' 2018
It is a great food wine, and producer Christine Campedieu is very precise in the dishes she recommends as partners - rock fish, grilled squid, white meat in sauce or cheese (specifically Comté, Camembert or Reblochon).
|Style||White Wine, Sec, Full-bodied, Non Sparkling|
|Wine Region||Roussillon, Collioure|
|Grape Variety (Cépage)||Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris, Macabeau, Rolle, Roussanne, Vermentino|
|Cellarage||Drinking well now but will keep for 2-3 years.|
|Vinification||The climate is well suited to viticulture as plenty of sunshine ensures optimum ripening conditions for the grapes whilst the strong Tramontane wind keeps the vines pest free. Grown on 100% schist, only the best fruit is picked 'à la main bien sûr!' from 30-year-old vines. The wine is pressed in the Vaslin-Bucher press and bottled at the beginning of the following summer.|
