Three diverse whites - a crisp blend of Chardonnay and Trésallier from the Auvergne, a mid-weight Riesling - Muscat from Alsace and a rich, barrel-fermented Chenin from the dynamic Carsten Migliarina in Stellenbosch. The reds span Gamay (from the Graillot's exciting project in northern Beaujolais), versatile Cabernet Franc and a reliable Nielluccio - Sciacarello combo from south-west Corsica.

As ever, this 'Sommelier Service' mixed case (see here for regular wine deliveries) is also available as all red or all white. The price is fixed at £149, generating an eyewatering saving on normal prices. Just don't tell the FD!

This mixed case contains two bottles each of:

WHITE:
Saint-Pourçain: 'Cuvée Printanière' Blanc 2018

Alsace: Léon Beyer 'La Cuvée' 2017
Stellenbosch: Migliarina Chenin Blanc 2017

RED:
Beaujolais en Besset: Domaine de Fa 2017
Saumur Champigny: Domaine Filliatreau 'La Grande Vignolle' 2018
Vin de Corse Sartène Rouge: Domaine Saparale 2017

This mixed case includes

2 x Saint-Pourçain: 'Cuvée Printanière' Blanc 2018£0.00

This popular, mid-weight white wine from the Auvergne has subtle citrus aromas, fresh, zesty fruit flavours and a crisp and clean finish.

2 x Alsace: Léon Beyer 'La Cuvée' 2017£0.00

Léon Beyer's 'La Cuvée' blend is an Alsace blend of Muscat and Riesling. Such blends are often described as 'Edelzwicker' (German for 'noble mixture'), and allow winemakers to express their 'house style' and can often be terrific value.

2 x Stellenbosch: Migliarina Chenin Blanc 2017£0.00

A rich barrel-fermented Chenin Blanc made in small quantities by boutique winemaker Carsten Migliarina. Crisp acidity balances baked Bramley apple, shortbread biscuit and hints of vanilla and confit pineapple. Subtle honey notes on the finish will become more complex and intense with bottle age. Delicious with creamy poultry dishes, soft cheese or spring vegetable risotto.

2 x Beaujolais en Besset: Domaine de Fa 2017£0.00

The Graillot family recently acquired 5 hectares of vines in the cru of Saint Amour (in the climat of Côte de Besset) from which this charming, juicy Beaujolais is produced - alongside a full St-Amour. It's organic to boot.

2 x Saumur Champigny: Domaine Filliatreau 'La Grande Vignolle' 2018£0.00

A mid-weight, ripe, rounded Cabernet Franc. A wonderful concentration of brambly fruit is underpinned by supple tannins.

2 x Vin de Corse Sartène Rouge: Domaine Saparale 2017£0.00

A lovely briary red wine from Corsica blended from 80% Sciacarello and 20% Nielluccio - just the thing to accompany grilled red meat or a ripened Brocciu cheese.
